30 Poems Success

The 2025 30 Poems fundraiser succeeded in raising $100,000 for the Center for New Americans, and I was proud to be a part of that effort! We had our celebratory poetry reading last weekend, which went very smoothly and was very enjoyable. I look forward to seeing this year’s Anthology, which is likely to go to press in February, if they stick to last year’s publication schedule.

I wrote 36 poems, and we raised $520 towards the cause. A real pleasure to spend time writing poetry in community, and Nerissa Nields’ prompts were excellent!

One of my personal goals in 2026 is to get more consistent with submitting poems to journals. Here’s hoping that bears some fruit– I’d love to place some of the work I wrote this November and share it around.
