Need to be Proud
Through our July challenge, we’ve reassessed our goals, both short term and long term. Now it’s time to recognize our achievements in taking all the small steps that we’ve identified towards these goals! By taking the time to appreciate the hard work that we do, no matter how subtle or long-term, we’re going to give ourselves a positive boost. It can be a struggle to be proud of what we do, particularly when feeling down. But every day, each one of us is making positive choices that deserve to be recognized, even if only in our own hearts. This challenge is simple, but not easy! I believe in you. This challenge offers a chance to build emotional resilience and support our progress towards our goals.
Daily:
Write it down! Today I am proud of myself because…
To Do:
Choose a place to record a daily journal, on paper or online.
Towards the end of the month, or whenever you’re inspired, post to the Living Vividly Guild about your experiences in practicing feeling proud of yourself.
Reflection:
Keeping a daily journal of something I was proud of, even if it was just one sentence, was pretty powerful! I loved that the entries encompassed a wide variety of things, from stuff that anyone would consider an accomplishment (like washing four loads of laundry), to stuff that was more personal and related to my growth (like holding a boundary, talking things out with someone, or apologizing for something), to things that are old habits but still worth celebrating (like being careful with my body to avoid flaring my chronic pain through overdoing it).
