Prep for Success
As we wind down with one heck of a year, it’s time to think about how we can set ourselves up for future success. Rather than waiting until 2021 rolls over and making resolutions for change, let’s decide what’s important to us now and find a way to make it easier to achieve later! Do you want to start a new year on better terms with someone? Consider writing them a heartfelt letter, or setting up a call. Do you want to begin a healthy new habit or routine? Start to prepare the rewards and encouragement you’ll need to push on with it in days you don’t feel like keeping on. Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but were too nervous? Practice ahead of time! Do you want to learn a skill, but it feels overwhelming? Spend a month just researching more about it! Sometimes the thing that stands in our way is our own projections of how hard something is going to be, based on not enough knowledge. This challenge offers a chance to set yourself up for future success, boosting morale and being generous with time to learn and decide.
To Do:
Choose something you want to do better in 2021
Take positive action each week in December to make this goal easier! (Strengthen a skill, learn something new, set up rewards, do research, take a first step.)
Reflection:
This challenge helped lots of people in the Guild! I’m glad we all had a chance to set ourselves up for a better new year (rather than just flipping the calendar and expecting to do great at something without any time to prep for it).
