Building Your Skills
There is a healing power in engaging voluntarily with a challenge that is under your control. It can help you feel more resilient when you are faced with unexpected challenges! If you have the resources (mental, emotional, physical, time and/or monetary), I challenge you this month to learn how to do something new. Maybe you’ve always wanted to make your own yogurt, grow potatoes, learn a language, braid your hair, or attempt crochet? Find something you feel you can succeed at, and add a new skill to your collection. This challenge offers a chance to spark self-confidence in learning, helping to build your resilience in the face of the unexpected. Remind yourself that you *can* be adaptable and learn to do things a new way!
Daily:
Work on learning a new skill (even five minutes a day can do it)
To Do:
Choose a skill you want to learn and gather any needed materials. (Ask in the guild chat for suggestions or resources if you get stuck!)
Reflection:
My new skill was something outside of my usual–loom knitting! I loved learning something new, and enjoyed connecting with other fiber crafters over it. While I don’t always have the physical ability to do much of repetitive crafts like knitting, it felt very good for my brain and my heart to do what I could.
