Romancing Morpheus

It seems only natural to make our February challenge about love, and in the pursuit of health and resilience, self-love is critically important. So, in the spirit of taking the best possible care of our bodies and minds, I would like to focus this month on something incredibly important to good health that is a tremendous struggle for many of us: promoting healthy sleep habits. This challenge offers a chance to take good care of yourself and build powerful physical resilience.

Daily:
Turn off electronics half an hour before bedtime
Go to bed on time

To Do:
Make up your bed with fresh, clean sheets
Take a nap
Write down a dream

Reflection:
I definitely enjoyed February’s challenge. I tend to have good sleep hygiene and good sleep habits in general, but picking a specific time to turn off electronics did make a difference! I found that on nights that I wasn’t sleepy at the appointed hour, reading a bit before bed was a very nice substitute for those last-moment email checks or Facebook posts. This challenge made a great reminder to me about why good sleep habits matter, and I believe it helped some of my guildmembers establish better habits for themselves, too!
