Community Trash Cleanup

Join me in celebrating Earth Day and beautify your neighborhood! Connect with your community while doing good. Go out and pick up some litter, and get your friends and family to join you! Remember basic safety precautions: wear gloves, watch out for sharp objects, and stay safe in traffic. This challenge offers a chance to strengthen your social web and build your own resilience by giving back to your community.

Reflection:

April was a very tough month for me, and I was only able to do the minimum on this challenge. Interestingly, not a ton of people elected to join this challenge, unlike the time a few years ago when I ran a similar Earth Day challenge that was not associated with the Living Vividly guild. The brightest spot for me was definitely my six year old daughter encouraging me to new adventures in neighborhood cleanup, to the point where I now carry trash bags and a pair of disposable gloves with me often when we go out together. After all, as she likes to say, ‘Every day is Earth Day.’
