There is so much loveliness in my garden right now, I just had to share. A lot of pictures, I know, but I hope you’ll find it all as interesting as I do!!
First, the daylilies. The yellow ones are my earliest variety, ‘Going Bananas’, which blooms basically through till September. The red ones were a division from a friend’s garden, so I don’t know the name. I divided mine this year, pretty close to bloom time, but it hasn’t slowed them down a bit!
Next, the bee balm. My Monarda started blooming just yesterday, and I so adore how there are three lovely shades of pink in that bed! I just can’t pick a favorite.
And finally, the food and (edible) flowers. Borage in blue, looking lovely and tasting better; Green beans developing on my two remaining bush green bean plants; Cucumbers thriving, I just tied them to the tipi yesterday; the dill flowering here is taller than my six-year-old; and beets just starting to sprout in a pot (I’m growing them for greens, and ornamental interest, not roots).
