As I was working through the September challenge, examining my ideas about my life’s purpose and direction, I noticed how much my monthly Habit challenges and my blogging mean to me. I realized, that even though I hadn’t defined my actions to myself in so many words, that the writing and introspection, the reflecting and sharing I choose to do here are near the heart of things. And as I turned that fact over in my mind, I decided that I wanted to make a concrete statement, to myself as much as my audience, about the value of my work. So I launched a Patreon page for this blog.

I do this work for love, and for the grace of connection. I do it for my own growth, and in honor of my own struggles. I do this work because this is what rises up out of me, when I am at home in the pure joy of being alive. I am infinitely grateful to be here, able to see and feel and transform my experiences with words and images into something that can be shared.

And now, anyone out there who prefers to use currency to express their own gratitude for the things I create that touch their heart, can. (I also joyfully accept words, images, hugs, foods, beverages, long walks, longer talks, and any other manifestations of thanks that move you.) ❤
